Preparation you won’t see, and results you will
Tile is unforgiving. Every dip in a floor and every out-of-plumb wall shows up as uneven edges, lippage and crooked grout lines. Before setting a single tile we check the substrate for flatness and stiffness, correct what needs correcting and choose the right backer board, membrane and setting materials for the location.
That preparation matters even more in the Hudson Valley, where older homes settle, framing is rarely perfectly square, and seasonal humidity swings cause wood floors to move.
Layout matters
A thoughtful layout is the difference between tile that looks custom and tile that looks installed. We plan where full tiles land in the most visible spots, keep cuts balanced at walls and cabinet ends, and line grout joints up with windows, niches and shower valves wherever possible.
